September marks the tenth anniversary of the founding of ASK Process, Inc.
Alan S Koch founded "Alan S Koch, Consultant" in September 1999. Initially, the company
focused solely on consulting and training focused on the CMM (Capability Maturity Model) and
PSP (Personal Software Process) that were published by the Software Engineering Institute at
Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA where he had been a Member of the Technical
Staff for 13 years.
In 2003, Mr. Koch incorporated ASK Process and began to branch out into a more general
embrace of IT (Information Technology) process improvement. This embrace includes software
Quality Assurance, software testing, software project management, Business Analysis, Agile
software development and ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) - a collection of best practices in IT
Service Management.
In the process, Mr. Koch has earned these certifications and recognition: ITIL Foundations and
Operational Support & Analysis (from the UK Office of Government Commerce), PMP -
Project Management Professional (from the Project Management Institute), STC Award of Merit
(from the Society of Technical Communications), IEEE Senior Member (from the Institute of
Electronic and Electrical Engineers), Certified Scrum Master (from the Scrum Alliance), full
membership (in the National Speakers Association), and Certified Toast Master (from Toast
Masters International).
